Published Tue, 04 Mar 2025 07:00:06 GMT

AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Camp Mabry has reached a high of 100° and higher 22 times since June 8. The record for consecutive days of highs in triple digits is 27 set in 2011. Humidity percentages will lower nicely through the afternoon dropping to mostly the lower to middle 20s. That makes the heat index at or a little below the air temperature.Saturday will end as the "coolest" day of the next 7 as the center of our heat dome moves back in over the Lone Star State. The center of the heat dome returns to Texas starting today Austin Interactive Weather Stats (2023) Long-range computer models show little signs of a pattern change, barring a surprise tropical storm from the Gulf of Mexico, which are hard to detect more than a week in the future. Barring rain from the tropics, it is not out of the question that Austin could have 40-50 consecutive 100° days.Consider supporting our ongoing KXAN Summer Fan Drive in partnership with Family Eldercare by clicking here.FIRST WARNING WEATHER: Stay up ...
