One man is dead and two others are in the hospital after a shooting in District Heights, Maryland, early Sunday morning.At about 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, officers found three men that had been shot in the parking lot of an apartment complex located in the 3700 block of Donnell Drive, Prince George’s County police told WTOP.All three men were rushed to a hospital.FATAL SHOOTING: 3700 blk of Donnell Dr. Prelim: At approx 1:35 am officers responded to the area for a shooting. A D.C. man has been arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder for allegedly shooting a man in Silver Spring, Maryland, according to Montgomery County police.The police said 37-year-old Anthony L. Green was arguing with an individual on July 15 in the 8100 block of Georgia Avenue when the victim intervened. Green reportedly shot the victim twice in the torso.The adult male victim walked into a fire station at around 1:54 p.m. on the same block where the shooting took place, according to police, suffering from life-threatening injuries. SAN DIEGO -- A former U.S. Postal Service mail carrier was sentenced in federal court Friday for stealing mail from customers on her Santee postal route.According to U.S. attorney Andrew Haden's office, 44-year-old Tracy Rumley of El Cajon was ordered to five years of probation and 200 hours of community service.This follows an incident on Nov. 21, 2022 when an off-duty San Diego Police detective saw a woman in a hooded sweatshirt open a communal mailbox at his apartment complex in Santee. VOLO, Ill. -- An elderly woman is dead after a semi-truck crash in Volo Saturday morning.According to police, the 84-year-old woman driving a Chevrolet exited a parking lot on the east side of Route 12 and travelled west towards southbound lanes as the driver of a semi-truck came northbound.Police said the woman made an abrupt U-turn and the semi-truck drove into the grassy media to avoid direct collision. 5-year-old pedestrian hospitalized after Irving Park car crash, driver in custody The Chevrolet struck the rear end of the semi-truck causing major damage. The 84-year-old woman sustained major injuries and was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. An autopsy is scheduled for the driver.
